1. Travel advice / Self Isolation

1.1: In accordance with Scotland’s government guidelines you must not travel/visit if you are experiencing symptoms including but not limited to raised temperature, persistent cough, loss of sense of taste or smell, or any other symptom listed on
1.2: You must also inform us immediately should such symptoms occur whilst you are staying with us, and you should immediately book a test through NHS Inform or, if you can’t get online by phoning 0800 028 2816 giving your holiday address and the point of contact. In accordance with Test and Protect, people with symptoms are required to self-isolate for at least 7 days, and everyone in the household should isolate for 14 days. If the test is negative, everyone can end isolation. If the test is positive, everyone should continue to isolate, and the NHS Test and Protect team will be in touch to start contact tracing. Those contacted through the Test and Protect programme will be required to self-isolate for at least 14 days. If you can travel home safely to isolate, avoiding the use of public transport, you should do this. In the event that this is not possible, you should discuss this with the NHS Test and Protect team. You may be signposted to the National Assistance Helpline on 0800 111 4000 if you need help to isolate and cannot arrange it yourself or through friends and family. In some circumstances further discussion may be required with the local Health Protection Team and local authority to ensure that you have suitable accommodation to isolate safely and effectively. After the required period of self-isolation, you and anyone else in your party who has been affected can then return to their main place of residence.
1.3: Any length of stay beyond your original contract with us will be charged at the relevant rate.
1.4: You must inform us if, within one week of departure, you or any of your fellow guests develop Covid 19 symptoms.

2 Arrival / Departure

2.1: Arrival time is 4pm. This allows our housekeeping team to ensure we have cleaned the property thoroughly following the departure of previous guests
2.2: On arrival you will find the key safe containing the door key. We will disinfect the key safe, the key and the door handles between guest stays.
2.3: Please ensure you have checked out by 9am on your day of departure. Given the vital nature of our cleaning routines during this period, you may be invoiced a late checkout charge of up to £100 if you fail to give us complete and undisturbed access to Mary’s Thatched Cottages by the specified checkout time.
2.4: Please be respectful to our staff and other guests and leave your accommodation in a reasonable condition. If there is any damage or breakages you must inform us prior to leaving the property otherwise we have the right to and will invoice an additional damage charge of up to £200.
2.5: On your departure day please strip your beds including pillows and mattress protectors and leave the linen and towels in the bags provided for this purpose on top of the stripped bed.
2.6: Upon departure please leave the windows in the bedroom and at the front and back of the living space to maximise air flow to the property.

3 Cleaning and our team

3.1: As you would expect, given our usual high standards of cleanliness, Mary’s Thatched Cottages are cleaned between guest stays using appropriate products to minimise risk.
3.2: Our housekeeper will be wearing the appropriate PPE while working so as to minimise risk.
3.3: We make every effort to ensure all contents but not limited to cutlery, glasses, crockery, are appropriately cleaned prior to your arrival. However, we recommend that you follow hygiene recommendations before / after use should you have any concerns. The amount of crockery etc has been minimised while still providing sufficient for the number of guests staying at any one time. We have taken the decision, at this time, to remove all games and books.
