More Info…

Effortlessly combining both modern and traditional, Tigh (meaning house, or home) Lachie is the perfect self-catering accommodation for a unique, luxurious break. It is one of our four cottages on the croft situated just outside of Elgol, Isle of Skye, which has belonged to six generations of Andrew’s family.

Tigh Lachie is named after Lachie MacIntosh, or ‘Mash’ as he is known locally. The stone came from Donald and Frances McKinnon, local crofters at the bottom of Elgol village. Donald is a key member of the Elgol and Torrin historical society – which often turns into the ‘hysterical society’ after a meeting due to the refreshments consumed!! Towards the end of the build, we ran short of stone for the chimneys so the stone was sourced from Elgol and Kilmarie shores.
