Tigh Lachie, in it’s elevated position above the other cottages, nestles cosily into the hillside below Ben Meabost and Ben Cleat. It is named after Lachie MacIntosh, one of the last of the old style traditional crofters of Elgol, or ‘Mash’ as he was known locally
The views to the front take in the Strathaird peninsula across to Glasnakille and beyond to Sleat and the Isles of Rum and Eigg.
Combining the traditional charm of a ‘Black House’ dwelling with all modern comforts it is an ideal base to step out of the door and explore the beautiful wilderness. If you prefer, just relax inside in front of the iron stove fire with your favourite book and a wee dram.
Sleeping four people. A traditional veiled boxed king size bed downstairs together with a gallery room with two single beds upstairs (accessed via a foldaway ladder with extra deep treads) A travel cot is also available.
If you wish to bring your canine companion you can because we are also pet friendly with room for two well behaved dogs at no extra charge. Arrival days at Tigh Lachie are Monday, Tuesday and Friday but we could be flexible dependent on the time of year. Please ask! You can secure your reservation with just a £100 deposit.
