Tigh Phadraig is owned by Derek Fish, a huge lover of Scotland and the great outdoors. An avid Munro bagger, ultra-marathon runner, and tea enthusiast, Derek is happiest when traversing Scotland’s Highlands and Islands in his campervan, running up and down mountains.
His first visit to Skye in 2015 was a turning point. He instantly fell in love with the area and embarked on a hunt for a holiday hideaway. The moment he saw Tigh Phadraig in Elgol, Derek knew it was exactly what he was looking for. Its rustic charm and warm, welcoming vibe, combined with the proximity to the Cullin mountains and the stunning views of the Strathaird Peninsula and the Isle of Rum, were irresistible.
Since 2018, Derek has been cherishing Tigh Phadraig, both as host and guest, sharing his beloved retreat with others. His personality is woven into the fabric of the cottage, from the captivating photography of his favourite hills to the carefully selected tea in the kitchen. And, while exploring the nooks and crannies of Tigh Phadraig, you might just get a glimpse of Derek’s adventurous spirit (though hopefully, his running trainers are not part of the find!).
